Unismuh Syariah Law Students' PKL at Three DIY Courts
UNISMUH.AC.ID, YOGYAKARTA — The Faculty of Islamic Law, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (Unismuh), is conducting a National Field Study Program (PKL) at three religious courts in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, starting on Monday, August 4, 2025. This activity is part of strengthening students' practical skills in preparation for completing their studies.
A total of 42 students are participating in the PKL program, which takes place at three strategic locations: the Yogyakarta Religious Court, the Bantul Religious Court, and the Sleman Religious Court. During the program, they are supervised by field supervisors (DPL) from the HES program and the Faculty of Islamic Law at Unismuh.
The program began with a welcoming ceremony at each court. The court leaders and staff welcomed the students and appreciated this collaboration as part of strengthening the synergy between educational institutions and the judicial system.
The Head of the Sharia Economics Law Program, Dr. Hasanuddin, SE.Sy., ME.I., stated that the implementation of this PKL is a concrete implementation of the nationally designed practical-based curriculum. "This activity not only introduces students to the legal process directly, but also provides them with a contextual understanding of the character of religious courts in the DIY region," he said.
During the 45-day program, students will be involved in various aspects of court activities, ranging from administrative assistance, observation of court sessions, to institutional discussions. They are expected to integrate the theoretical knowledge they have gained in the classroom with the practical experience they encounter in the field.
This program is an important part of the practical learning program offered by the HES program at Unismuh Makassar. In addition to improving students' Sharia law competence, this activity also expands Unismuh's institutional network with national legal institutions.
With the implementation of this National PKL, Unismuh Makassar reaffirms its commitment to providing responsive, contextual, and field-oriented Sharia law education.
