Three FAI Unismuh Makassar Islamic Economics Law Lecturers Pass Supreme Court of RI Mediation Certification

UNISMUH.AC.ID, MAKASSAR - Three lecturers from the Sharia Economics Law Study Program (HES) of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (Unismuh) have successfully obtained professional mediator certification with a license from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia.

The announcement was made by the Head of the HES Program at Unismuh, Hasanuddin SE Sy, ME, C.Med, on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

The three lecturers who passed are Hasanuddin SE Sy, ME, C.Med, Andi Muhammad Aidil SH, MH, C.Med, and Abdul Malik SH, MH, C.Med.

The mediation training was organized by FHP LAW SCHOOL - Faizal Hafied & Partner Education of Law in collaboration with Unismuh, and was attended by 120 participants from across Indonesia.

The training took place from March 26 to April 30, 2023, every Saturday and Sunday, online through the Zoom platform. The mediator certification exam was held on April 29-30, 2023.

The graduates of this training are expected to serve as mediators, providing legal assistance to the public through both non-litigation and litigation pathways, as non-judicial mediators within the courts.

Muhammad Aidil, one of the participants and a lawyer, hopes that the goals of FHP Mediation Indonesia in implementing mediation can be achieved, given the importance of resolving disputes through mediation in Indonesia.

Out of the 120 participants who took the exam, only 90 participants successfully passed and received the non-academic C.Med (Certified of Mediator) certificate.

The Head of the HES Program at Unismuh hopes that the success of the three lecturers as mediators can serve as an example for students and the Sharia Economics Law program to be interested in this profession.

He also hopes for broader collaboration between FHP LAW SCHOOL and Unismuh, including providing scholarships for Unismuh students to participate in training programs.
