113 FAI Unismuh Makassar Graduates Ready to Work and Serve the Community

UNISMUH. AC.ID, MAKASSAR– The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) at Muhammadiyah University (Unismuh) Makassar held a graduation ceremony for its 113 graduates on Friday (August 30, 2024) at the FAI Hall, on the 4th floor of Iqra Building.

The event was attended by graduates from six study programs: Islamic Religious Education (PAI) (40 graduates), Arabic Language Education (PBA) (1 graduate), Sharia Economic Law (HES) (18 graduates), Ahwal Al-Syakhshiyyah (AS) (25 graduates), Islamic Broadcasting and Communication (KPI) (15 graduates), and Islamic Education Guidance and Counseling (BKPI) (14 graduates).

The solemn event was attended by faculty leadership, heads of study programs, the quality assurance unit, and staff from FAI Unismuh.

In her address, Dean of FAI Unismuh, Dr. Amirah Mawardi, expressed her gratitude to Allah SWT for the graduates' success in completing their studies. She shared feelings of joy and emotion upon seeing the students officially conferred as graduates.

"We give thanks to Allah SWT. Today, you are officially conferred as FAI graduates. I am happy, yet also saddened that you have completed your studies and will no longer have regular interactions with us. Insha Allah, success awaits you ahead. For those who wish to pursue a master's degree, please do so. Please convey our respectful greetings to your parents and families who entrusted your education to FAI Unismuh Makassar," Dr. Amirah said emotionally.

Dean I, Dr. Ilham Muchtar, in his academic message, emphasized the importance of continuous self-improvement. He described four levels of a graduate, ranging from ordinary scholar to great scholar, and encouraged the graduates not to be complacent with their current achievements.

"My dear students, continuously improve your quality. Never be satisfied with what you have achieved. There are four levels of graduates: the ordinary scholar, who is average; the good scholar, who is worthy of family pride; the excellent scholar, who has contributed, albeit limitedly; and the best, the great scholar, who thinks about what they can give, not what they can take. Be an inspiration in goodness," said Dr. Ilham Muchtar.

This graduation ceremony not only marks the end of the students' academic journey but also the beginning of their path as alumni ambassadors ready to contribute and serve the community. FAI Unismuh Makassar graduates are expected to bring honor to the alma mater and provide benefits to their surroundings.
